WONCA Europe

Scientific program

The 3rd VdGM Forum aims to offer you a diverse and high quality scientific program, intended to keep you interested, open minded and involved.

The Forum main theme is "Reaching Out For Diverse Populations: Medicine For The Vulnerable" (immigrants, refugees, LGBTs, low-income populations and people with special needs). We will also deal with other challenges such as research in family medicine, medical education, domestic violence and exchanges in family medicine. Moreover, selected clinical skills will be trained through workshops.

The main Forum offers four types of scientific activities:

  • Workshops
  • Short oral presentations of original research/projects/case reports/etc.
  • Posters (lively guided walk along the "poster avenue")
  • Debates on burning issues (a new way for us to raise dilemmas and try to advocate for optimal solutions)

Keynote speakers and thought-provoking panels will be woven into our program.

The final scientific program can be found on this page.

The Forum main program can be extended to include two pre-Forum workshops and a pre-Forum exchange program.

In the workshops participants will have the chance to enhance their clinical skills, by learning to use the evidence based IMS (intra-muscular stimulation) method. Another workshop will deal with practice management by trying to learn how it's done in different places around Europe. Places are limited and will be assigned on a first come, first served basis - so act fast and register to participate in the pre-Forum workshops. Registration is possible only through the main registration form.

As for the exchange program, participants will be offered the chance to experience Israel's primary care system. Please note there are limited places which are awarded competitively at the discretion of the organising committee. Click here to find out more and how to apply.

For any other questions on the scientific program please contact the chair of the scientific committee, Dr Yael Gillerman (Yael.gillerman@gmail.com).
