RCGP / SAPC Exchange 2012

We are delighted to provide you with details of our 2012 RCGP and SAPC conferences exchange for Vasco da Gama members. The conference and will be held from Wednesday 3rd until Saturday 6th October 2012in Glasgow, Scotland. The conference theme will be "global general practice" and will feature an impressive line up of national and international speakers. This year's Vasco da Gama exchange will include extra activities, making it an event not to be missed. We plan to welcome delegates to Glasgow on Monday 1st October. There will be one day spent observing a local GP in practice on Tuesday 2nd October. On the Wednesday we will run a pre conference for delegates which will also be attended by new and future GP's from around the UK. This will be followed by a reception help by the RCGP President Iona Heath. We aim to fund 15 exchange places for the RCGP conference which will cover the full admission fee.

In addition, we have 5 academic exchange places to offer to GP trainees or GP within five years of training who are involved in significant research or education activity in their own country. The Society for Academic Primary Care exists to support, promote and develop the discipline of academic primary care and are, for the first time, holding a joint conference with the RCGP on Wednesday 3rd and Thursday 4th October 2012. Academic exchange delegates will spend a day in practice on Tuesday 2nd October then join academics from the UK for 2 days at the SAPC conference being held in parallel with the RCGP conference at the SECC in Glasgow. Academic exchange delegates are invited to attend the SAPC gala dinner at the Oran Mor.
