Family Medicine 360

Hello everyone!

The Family Medicine 360 program, the global exchange project, has set up a small webpage that contains some information on the program and the steps that an applicant should follow.

The VdGM Constitution

Here you can find the most up to date version of our governing document.

WE LOOK FOR YOU!

Have you entered VdGM's two competitions ?

Each year VdGM organizes two competitions for junior GPs/FPs around Europe:

Fons Sips Outstanding Achievement Award

In 2016, the Fons Sips Outstanding Achievement Award was created in honour of the contributions of one of VdGM’s founding fathers, Alphons Jacobus Ignatius Sips to the establishment of VdGM, the European Young Doctors Movement of WONCA. It was created in order to ensure that the heritage and history of movement was not forgotten and in order to recognise great work and contribution of its members. The celebratory action was tinged with profound sadness as Fons Sips sadly passed away shortly after its creation.

1st #VdGMForum | Call for Abstracts

In 2014, we are ready to launch a Pan European meeting for trainees and junior Family Doctors, the VdGM Forum, which will take place in Barcelona on 7th-8th February 2014. Our objective is to strengthen the relationships between our members, provide a true platform based on continuity and offer a tailored scientific and cultural programme.

Family Medicine 360°

The Family Medicine 360° Program is a global exchange program for medical doctors training in Family Medicine/General Practice and junior Family Doctors/General Practitioners (within five years of completing residency training). It enables participants to spend up to 4 weeks visiting the Primary Health Care System of a different country, all over the world.

WONCA 2013: Training for Family Physicians: Time to Go Global? A collaborative workshop of VdGM with EURACT

The Training for Family Physicians: Time to Go Global? collaborative workshop will be held during the WONCA World 2013 Conference Prague on Wednesday 26th June 2013, at 3.30pm (room North Hall). Organised by the Vasco da Gama Movement and EURACT, moderated by Jessica Watson, Alice Shiner, Luisa Pettigrew, Greg Irving, Lynda Redwood-Campbell, Jessica Evert, Yvonne Leeuwen Robert Burman, Roar Maagaard. Objective: In the increasingly interdependent world of the 21st century, global health is on our doorsteps and in our consulting rooms. People travel and diseases move beyond national borders more rapidly than ever. Family doctors increasingly serve multicultural societies with diverse needs. Physicians are powerful advocates for health, requiring engagement with issues of globalisation, health inequalities, climate change and political instability. There is an increasing recognition of the importance of global health education at an undergraduate level, however less work has been done at a postgraduate level, in particular with a focus on primary care.
